To the Elders laboring in the State of New-York.�Dear Brethren.

The General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ, of Latter Day Saints, having appointed Elder [[Bates, Marcellus|Marcellus Bates]] and myself to preside over the mission to this State, and desiring to enter immediately upon my duties: I hereby earnestly request all of you to communicate with me through the Prophet paper; informing us where you are preaching; stating your success, prospects, and any other matter that will be useful and interesting.
