Reason #2,440 to love BHRoberts: John W. Young was not, shall we say, an exemplary apostle, or even an exemplary man, and there is almost every reason for the LDSaints of that day to be embarrassed and angry, and to wish JWY would just fade quietly away somewhere. But I've just read a long batch of telegrams written by BHR reporting his efforts to care of JWY in JWY's last days (1924). There's no hint of anger or disdain in any of them, just tender care as BHR tries to relieve JWY's cares, and relay JWY's last messages, and do anything he could to ease JWY's passing. It's that same care we've seen BHR show for his boys as a WWI chaplain.
