The History of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New York City
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has a long and varied history in New York City. From the restoration of the Gospel, New York City has represented a variety of things to the Mormon people as they sought refuge and exaltation.
New York City has been a resource for knowledge, goods, services and finance for church members as well as for the Church. It has been a staging and transition point for members traveling to and from various parts of the world. And it has become a home to thousands of members and a 'Stake of Zion' in the 'Latter-days.'
