- 6/20/1837 -- Missionaries bound for England delayed in NYC before traveling. They finally leave on the Ship Garrick on 1 July, arriving in Liverpool on 20 July 1837.
- 5 August 1837 -- Parley P. Pratt arrives in New York City to preside over the Eastern States Mission. By October 3 he had baptized four. In addition to working in New York, he visits Providence, Boston and Holliston, Massachusetts. A February 6th, 1838 report indicates he had success in Ossining.
