Mormon Paper
Pittsburgh Daily Morning Post 7 Dec 1854
A new paper, called "The Mormon" is about to be started in New York City. It will be conducted by Elder John Taylor, one of the Twelve Apostles of that church. It will of course be devoted to the advocacy of Mormonism, as well as to general news. Mr. Taylor has been for a long time connected with the presses of that church, and is an able writer. The Mormons are increasing with great rapidity; thousands being added yearly to their numbers from all parts of this country, and from nearly all parts of Europe; and the newspaper is designed for their instruction, and to inform them of the best routes and means of emigration to the Salt Lake country.
