To the Elders laboring in the State of New-York.�Dear Brethren.

The General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ, of Latter Day Saints, having appointed Elder Marcellus Bates and myself to preside over the mission to this State, and desiring to enter immediately upon my duties: I hereby earnestly request all of you to communicate with me through the Prophet paper; informing us where you are preaching; stating your success, prospects, and any other matter that will be useful and interesting.
