The Article Dr. Pack and the Common Six-Pack by Ardis E. Parshall (Keepapitchinin, 30 July 2008) indicates that Dr. Frederick J. Pack (1875-1938) had a Ph.D. in geology from Columbia University.
By his age and other activities mentioned in the article, Pack would have had to attend Columbia sometime between about 1900 and 1910.
