My Great-Great-Grandfather Samuel Coulson joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Birmingham in 1862 and immigrated to Williamsburg, NYC in 1867. He lived there until at least 1871, and within a few years immigrated to Utah on the train.

My father named me after this man and I as an amateur genealogist and historian have been researching his life for the last few years. I am excited about this research project to both gain and record information that is found from historical records.

I grew up in Logan, Utah where I attended Utah State University and was awarded as a Bachelor of Computer Science in 2010 and a Master of Instructional Technology in 2012. Soon thereafter I obtained a job as an Instructional Multimedia Technician at an online university in northern Virginia, and made the cross-country trek, similar to what Samuel did. I enjoy how much I learn about myself by exploring the lives of those who came before me.
