Presbytery Opposes Roberts

It Passes a Resolution Calling Upon Congress to Enforce the Law.

The New York Presbytery, at its meeting yesterday afternoon, … The following resolution, offered by the Moderator's Council, was passed unanimously:

Resolved, That the Presbytery of New York sympathizes with the general feeling of apprehension at the growing disregard by the Mormon citizens of Utah of the obligations under which that State obtained admission to the Union, and prays Congress to enforce those obligations, and the House of Representatives to observe them in the case of Brigham H. Roberts recently elected to that House by the State of Utah.
