Rhapsodic Ejaculation

Talmage Speaks of Switching Off the World, and Utters a Defiance.

"I am full of rhapsodic ejaculation," said Dr. Talmage in his opening sermon of the ecclesiastical year, at the Brooklyn Tabernacle, yesterday morning. The building was crowded to its fullest capacity. During the summer recess it has been cleaned and recarpeted, and a new trumpet stop has been put into the organ. Dr. Talmage said he wanted to put a new trumpet stop into his sermons. He announced that he would preach next Sunday on the Chinese question, as suggested by his visit to California. The following Sunday he will preach on the Mormon question. In announcing the latter subject he said that whoever believe that Mormonism was dying out made a stupendous mistake. …
