Arrival of Seven Hundred Mormons

New York Evening Post, 14 May 1859, p. 2

The packet ship William Tapscott arrived yesterday, with 725 Mormons, on their way for Salt Lake City. Over two hundred of them are English, over two hundred Danish, and the balance Scotch, Irish, Welsh, Swiss, Swedish and Norwegians. There were nineteen weddings on shipboard during the voyage. Most of the emigrants leave to-day for Utah.
