Endurance Bikers Finish Big Grind
What, no endurance bike riders? Ho, ho, ha, ha and a couple of he, he's. Down there in Carroll st., between Henry and Clinton its., a quartet of Brooklyn bicycle enthusiasts finished a 1,083 hours' grind last Sunday at 1 P. M. The gents in question are Tony Zenna, Dominick Guglielmo, Joe Flose and Charley Gama.
On Thursday morning, July 24, 1930, 83 years after the Mormons founded Salt Lake City, Nick Palmer, middleweight champion of the National Guard, fired the shot heard 'round Carroll st., and started these fellows on their drive to nowhere. For 45 days and nights did the bike pushers push, and on Saturday night folks of the community will show what kind of sports by giving the kids a block party. — Vackner.
