Template:Merge

This page may need to be merged to meet the New York City LDS History Style Guide.

Documentation

This template is to be applied to a page that need to be merged with another page, because it contains duplicate information. Once the content has been merged with the main article on the topic, the duplicate page should be changed to redirect to the main article.

Categorization

Pages that include this template will be automatically included in the Category:Pages to be merged (unless you supply the "category=" parameter, as described below).

Usage

Simply insert the template near the top of the article by typing {{Merge}}. You should always supply the target page, and generally also the reason the merge is needed, e.g., {{Merge|This topic is covered under [[Membership Records]]}}. If you are using the template only for documentation purposes (such as on the Style Guide page), you can suppress the "Pages to be deleted"" category by adding a blank "category" parameter, e.g., {{Merge|This topic is covered under [[Membership Records]]|category=}}.
