Latter Day Saints

LATTER DAY SAINTS.—The packet ship North America, lately arrived at New York, brought in her steerage two hundred Mormon passengers, principally from Leicestershire and Herefordshire, England, bound for the Mormon settlement at Quincy, Illinois. The Liverpool Chronicle states that upwards of 2000 more are expected to embark early in the spring for the same locality.

Conversion to the Mormon faith is of frequent occurrence in Illinois. John C. Kennett, the Quarter Master General of the State, has recently become an active member of the society. A General Conference was lately held at Nauvoo, which continued for three days, and was attended by about three thousand persons.
