The Prophet v1n8 06 July 1844, pg 2

In the great work of the latter days, none need any "there is nothing for me to do." There are thousands in our large cities who do not know what the peculiar tenets of the "Dispendation of the fulness of times" are, and as it is the will of God that the gospel should be preached to all as a witness, our sisters can assist in rolling forth the cause by organizing in their several branches "Societies for the distribution of Tracts" setting forth in clearness and perapicuity the precepts we contend for. In order to assist them in such a laudable undertaking, we will publish comprehensive tracts of from 4 to 8 pages each giving the principles of the "faith once delivered to the Saints," and will forward them to their order at the rate 6cts. per hundred pages. Orders addressed (post paid) to the "Prophet office" will meet with due attention.
