Latest From The Mormon Country.�It is now asserted in some quarters that the Smiths were murdered by the disaffected Mormon faction, whose press had been burnt and themselves expelled from Nauvoo. �

� The following items are from the St. Louis New Era of the 3d instant:

We are indebted to the officers of the steamer Osprey for the following up river news. �

Elder Adams came down to-day from Nauvoo, on board the Osprey. We learn that his object is to visit several of the Elders of the Mormon Church who are residing in the Eastern States, for thepurpose of consulting them as to a reorganization of the Church. He will call, we presume, upon Sidney Rigdon first, who is now in the vicicinity of Pittsburgh, and then proceed to New-York and Massachusetts, where the largest portion of the twleve are said to be located. �
