Judge King—Political Cliques—Buchanan—Dallas—Doctor Moriarty—Mormonism.
J. G. Bennett, Esq.:
This morning ws big with the fate of the late rioters who had been convicted…
…
More trouble in the Mormon camp. J. M. Grout, who holds forth in this city under the direction of the Twelve at Nauvoo, as he alleges, was this morning arrested and held to bail in $1,000, for a libel upon the Rev. Sidney Rigdon, in publishing a pamphlet against him, full of romance, contraditions, and absurdities. Mr. Rigdon and others, have b been exposing the base conduct of certain Elders of the church on the subject of spiritual wifeism, and they don't at all relish this expose. There is a rich pamphlet, recently published in Boston, by Elder John Ready, entitled his trial, which fully explains the subject. We recommend its perusal to the public. It is rich and racy, and full of fun. Au devoir, X. Y. G.Category J. M. Grant
