Mormonism Leaving the Field

City Intelligence

Mormonism Leaving the Field.—The Mormon Hall in Broome street of this city was closed yesterday, and, as far as our reporter could learn, without any intention on their part of being re-opened for preaching the peculiar doctrines of the prophet Brigham. This is not a mere change of place of meeting, but a perfect abandoning of the Empire city to its fate. According to the Mormons, considerable interest has recently been manifested at their places of preaching by outsiders, and converts have likewise recently been added to the number of the elect. We hear no complaint of want of funds. What's up?
