Summary

The Packet-Ship William Tapscott, Captain Bell, arrived last week at N. Y. in thirty-one days from Liverpool, bringing seven hundred and twenty-six Mormon emigrants, including women and children. One half of them are from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales, and the other half from Norway, Sweden and Denmark. They are a better class than the average of European emigrants.

On Saturday evening about 500 of the Mormon emigrants that arrived in the city on Friday, from Europe, left for the West by the Albany steamer Isaac Newton. The Mormon agents used every dispatch, and in 30 hours from landing in Castle Garden had them in motion up the Hudson.
