Mormon Conference at Hempstead, L. I.

The Mormon bishops and elders are making great exertions to extend their faith in Long Island. A Conference was begun here on Friday last, and was closed yesterday. The business session of the Conference have been conducted with closed doors, but public meetings for instruction in doctrine have been held daily. The Conference was attended by a delegation from Salt Lake City, headed by Bishop Burton, and as the result of the services, the Bishop stationed in this neighborhood expects to establish branch congregations in several other places.
