Mission President Addresses Mormons

Gustave A. Iverson, president of the Eastern States Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon), was the guest preacher for the service of the local body held at 261 Main street last night.

Mr. Iverson was accompanied by part of his office personnel, which is comprised of young missionaries serving two-year missions in the eastern states. Elder Julian W. Rasmussen, president of the Hudson district, which takes in the mid-Hudson section, was host to the church leader.

Prior to becoming president of the mission, Elder Iverson was a United States judge in Washington. He held this position through three administrations.

Also guests at the service were four young men from the west who are visiting missionaries working in this city while they are waiting for arrangements to be completed so that they may enter Brazil to serve two years and a half as proselyters for the Mormon church.
