Bush reaches back to intollerance

by Edwin C. Kruse Wayne NJ Passaic Valley Today, 16 November 1988, pg 23

Dear Editor:
On a recent Sunday evening I had the pleasure of attending the Gospel Music Festival of the Morristown Stake, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) in celebration of that church’s 150th anniversary in New Jersey. The spoken word by Mormon President Frank Judd told briefly of that church’s establishment, its trials and tribulations in the last century, and its growth, especially in the past decade and in Latin America.
Mormon President Judd also spoke of the Church of Latter-Day Saints being “expelled” from two states of the United States. I assume this expelling took place before there was an American Civil Liberties Union.
All of which leads to a related concern: …

[Balance of the letter concerns U.S. politics and the author’s disagreement with the proposals of President George Bush.]

After Election Day, who’s to say “Never again.”
