- In 1905 the Eastern States Mission president wasn't very happy about the threat of the property owner next door to put in what he called "an automobile stable." -- Ardis on Facebook

- I'll try to figure it out. The threat of a garage was part of the negotiations with the next door neighbor who wanted to buy -- and did end up buying -- the Church's existing property, so most of the correspondence is about the next place they bought. But I can probably figure it out. (The source is one of McQuarrie's regular monthly mission reports/letters to Salt Lake.) I don't suppose he had had much experience being around cars in 1905, but he sure didn't like the idea of a garage right next door. -- Ardis
- That was easier than I expected -- the Church sold their property at 151 West 123rd Street. I don't know which side of that property was the neighbor who bought it. -- Ardis
