While he was Eastern States Mission president in the 1920s, BHRoberts considered buying one of the historic properties of Mormondom. Besides its historic value, "it would give an opportunity for bringing perhaps from Utah two more families to build up this section of Zion. We have colonized Arizona, and Mexico, Canada – why not begin a little colonizing in the Eastern part of the land of Zion?"
