Will Be Returned To Munich

The First Mormon Prevented From Landing on Our Shores.

Marie Haselman, aged 22, who was born in Munich and who arrived here last Wednesday on the Wyoming, is the first immigrant who has been prohibited from landing on the ground of being a polygamist. Marie is pretty well educated, and acknowledges that she is a strong believer in polygamy. In her statement to general O'Beirne at the barge office in New York she said she would be satisfied were she married and her husband should take three or four other wives. Marie was bound for Logan, Utah, where she has a sister living as a Mormon. Her parents, who are in Munich, are Mormons, and paid her passage to this country to join the Mormons. She will be returned.
